In the meantime I think OP needs to collect evidence to establish that the claim is vexatious/malicious.  Did the ex partner ever contribute to the mortgage payments, pay for repairs, improvements or renovations?  Is there a paper trail about discussions over ownership?

Has he bought a property since the break up - and did he pay stamp duty as if it were a second home/first time buyer?

I never cease to be amazed at just how nasty some people can be.

@Land_Registry can a second appointee be enlisted regardless of whether it is an application or not so the sale is not stopped even if that means holding funds?
My son really needs this move for his mental health, he is only 10 and struggles being in the house.

Do you have any idea how long it will take to deal with my objection i am told it has been passed to lawyers at land registry at this point but i dont have a direct contact. Do you know any approximate timescales? Is there a direct contact i could speak to in order to provide further evidence quicker
If you managed to complete on the sale/purchase and the purchaser submitted their application to register I would expect it to have to wait until the prior application in form RX1 was resolved.
Your Qs and concerns are best addressed by your conveyancer. They are acting for you on the sale and the Answers to your Qs are all part of the conveyancing process as a result. It really doesn't matter what we will do as you need to get to a completed sale/purchase before your Qs arise.
If you've dealt with the 'objection' yourself and without legal representation then it may well lead to further correspondence if the situation remains unclear.
I would suggest you DM the specific details of the application title number so I can take a look and see what's happening at our end
