That is a report from Vanguard US. It gives Vanguard's expectations for returns in dollars for US citizens. Ordinary UK investors are not allowed to buy US based funds. Vanguard publishes corresponding numbers for UK investors from time to time, but it is a game of pinning the tail on a donkey.
  • ex US means excluding the US.
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
  • And therefore aren't really global any more. But you can just add Europe, Japan, UK (if not in Europe), Asia pacific and perhaps Emerging Markets funds in their respective market caps and you've pretty much built your own. Might miss out on Canada I guess but I wouldn't lose any sleep over that!

Which is what many people do.   However, you need to make sure you pick the right trackers to fill that role.
e.g. some countries/regions will benchmark to FTSE World, FTSE all world, Developing, MSCI etc as they can leave  or add things you don't want or don't want left out.

Might miss out on Canada I guess but I wouldn't lose any sleep over that!
ishares N America is the answer to that.
