Hello,
Just an update I've managed to open a monzo account.
I signed up for the switch thing but changed my bank details myself with uc....this now means I need to go to the job center with the new card and Id. Annoying my local job center is closed so I have to travel 45 mins....and it also means I have to ask for time off work to attend 🤦🏼♀️ what a faff!
Something I wanted to query was....my credit score has shot up, I went on to have a look and the lloyds loan is no longer showing? Why is that? Is it normal?
Thanks 😊

Probably Lowell have taken over reporting but it doesn't show yet.0

Credit score is meaningless and responds up or down, to any change shown on your file.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I just had a notification that my score had gone up and I wondered why but when I looked I noticed the lloyds loan account had gone.
Does that mean when lowells report it it will then be on there for 6 years again?0 -
It will just stsy on until its 6 years since the default date, then it will drop oft completely. The entry should show the original default date.
There is often a gap in reporting when a debt is sold, just because there can be a gap between one creditor taking it off their system and the next putting it on. One of mine was off for three months before it appeared again.0 -
Hello
Sorry its me again.
I have been ignoring all letters emails and txs from lowells but have just recieved one that is slightly different and says
'We have reviewed the information on your credit file and believe that further recovery action would be an appropriate way to collect what you owe. This may include
*A third party debt collection company contacting you."
It then goes on to just say more calls letters emails and txs should be expected.
Im a bit confused because I thought lowell was a third party collection company.
The lowells debt is now on my credit file stating the default date June 2019 (which is the same that showed from lloyds) so Im sure they know it's only 6 months until it becomes statue barred. My last payment was made on 17th Dec 2018 but now it's been removed from my credit file how could I prove that if needed to?
Am I still sitting quietly? I'm getting a bit twitchy that given there is only 6 months left they'll just try for a ccj.
Many thanks 😊

Lowell buy so many defaulted debts that they couldn't possibly start court claims on all of them. So they have to choose which ones to try.
They haven't exactly done very much in the past 3 months
Keeping schtum is the best policy. Let us know what they send0 -
Lowell is a debt purchasing company, they do chase the debts they buy, but also farm them out to other 3rd party collectors as well.
All they are saying is they may pass your details to another collection company to collect on their behalf.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. They all use the "further recovery action" wording. It's designed to strike fear into people and make them think legal action is imminent but all it really means is that they'll keep pestering you. They have two options to get money from you, pester you with impied threats and discount offers, or take legal action. The pestering is all automated so they leave that running for everyone, but when it comes to legal action they'll be a lot more selective about who they try it with.
Keep quiet unless you get a letter before action from them.1
