Is this pipework into a towel rail awful?

I've got a similar designed towel rail which is electric and works well: I can switch it on remotely when I've spare solar or electricity is cheap and hence cheaper to run than gas.

I'd also question if he is an electrician - That electrical connection probably needs Part P paperwork being so close to the shower.swingaloo said:'He's not a plumber by trade'. I believe you! Is he still a family friend?
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

That pipework is very very very very funny.

Jelly's idea is best, I think - you'll need an actual plumber, or a proper DIYer who can blow-torch a yorkie.Run new pipes along the floor to the required 'up' positions, and then box them in using laminate flooring. The LH pipe should go straight up with no bends, and the RH one will need a single elbow adjacent to the connection. Either sleeve them in plastic, or paint them black.Possibly that RH connection can be rearranged to allow the water pipe to enter from underneath just like the other one which would look much better, and the electrical connection comes in from the RH side? But, I don't know.

Put the two valves on the same orientation whilst you're at it.Signature on holiday for two weeks0

As a DIYer I think it's awesome.1

1. Re. rough photoshop - yes that's broadly what I meant.
2. If you are prepared to undertake the boxing in per jelly's suggestion, I think that is a better option and less prone to damage from kicking / cleaning.1 -
Someone has spent too much time looking at "is this ok" photos on Facebook.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I don't have the skills/tech to photo shop. but can say that my box ins were done using 'hard as nails' and batons by creating a frame for the box which is constructed separately to sit on cross front and side batons and be screwed onto the back edge of the frame uprights only. This enables the frame to be lifted off for maintenance purposes by unscrewing it. Being at the back the screws do not show but clip in covers could be used.To come clean, I actually designed and installed my box ins myself before falling off the step ladder when painting a ceiling. The result was my years of DIY were finished for good but not before I had partitioned a very long bedroom to create a dressing room with and alcove for a television on the bedroom side and much else before then.

I quite like it, if you lost the plastic cleats and replaced with brass and hung a couple of steam punk hat and goggle combos on radiator you could call it a installation,I am sure it would become a talking point.Sarahspangles said:He’s not called Robinson is he?
