new HSBC current account after switching out

Hello,
I switched out of HSBC in June and closed my current account. I'd been with them for about 30 years so not my smartest decision.
Now - I'd like to open a new HSBC current account as intend to open the 7% regular saver as soon as I can and also a Stocks & Shares ISA in April.
Are there any hard rules about how quickly they'd let me open a new account? I don't want to do it prematurely and get an automatic NO, when a longer wait might be more beneficial.
Has anyone any (positive or negative) experience of asking to open a new HSBC account after closing one?
thanks!

thanks! No hard rules, they might accept you, they might not. HSBC are not one of the names you see rejecting those who've left recently (tends to be Barclays, Metro and the app-based challengers). They do have a reputation for being picky in general tho.1 -
I did this, although I wasn’t with them for so many years. When I reapplied, I received a letter telling me I had to go to a branch. They asked me why I closed the account and then were happy to open a new one for me.0

Thanks. I might go into branch and go prepared!0

I transferred my account out a few months ago, they won't allow me open a new one online, will have to go into a branch.0

Do you want a switch bonus for re-opening an account?

No - not looking for switch bonus. It's just for the regular saver and the fairly decent S&S ISA for global strategy portfolios.

Not directly related but we left First Direct ( who are obviously HSBC )and were accepted back a few months later with no fuss. This was about 6 years ago though.
the Global Strategy funds are available on most of the major platforms, you don’t need to hold the isa directly with HSBC.0
