Vet fees

Hello
My dog had 3 pea sized mammary lumps
removed and a precautionary hysterectomy on vet’s advice. The lumps were beign. I paid my insurance excess £150 and the rest of the bill was sent to insurance company. Received an email from the vet looking for the shortfall that the insurance won’t cover of £800. The quote I received for the procedure was £1000 - the amount billed to insurance company was £3000.
To add to this they haven’t removed one
of the lumps so had to take her back today at a cost of £57 for a consultation fee and want to see her again in two weeks which will be another £57 to then discuss removing the lump they missed.

Not sure if I can do much about this ?
Thanks

Have you asked your insurance company why they won't cover the shortfall?
If it's something you aren't insured for under the terms of the policy then there's not much you can do about it, but you are entitled to an explanation.
Have you asked the vets why the bill was 3 times the price of the quote. There may be a reason but again you're entitled to ask for an explanation.
What have they said about missing the lump?
Why are you having to pay for them missing the lump?
Why wasn't this discussed at the first consultation?0 -
if the £800 was for the hysterectomy the insurance will not pay for that as it is a precautionary operation , not a medical necessity.
Insurance does not cover things like spaying, vaccinations, flea or worming treatments as these as precautionary treatments.
Was the quote £1000 per lump?
