Nearly finished IVA

Well on Wednesday I received VWFS’s final response. They said that as I handed the car back I voluntarily terminated the agreement. However the IVA start was after this, and my debt to VWFS was included.Despite my IVA having finished they are refusing to acknowledge this until I send them the certificate of completion. That will be done tomorrow.I guess I’m off to the ombudsman now…
Am I right? Or am I fighting a losing battle and I’m going to have to accept six years of late payments (this is how they are marking it) on my credit reports?0 -
I would hope VWFS will change their mind when they see the completion certificate.
If not, you should win this at the Financial Ombudsman Service.1 -

Just to finish off the story,
VWFS rang me up today. I’d sent them a letter saying why I thought their final response was incorrect, and included the IVA report and the completion certificate. They said they’d had a request for information from the ombudsman, had reviewed my case and agreed that they needed to change what they’d done.I am presuming this is why my score at Equifax jumped up 143 points yesterday.
I am just glad that it won’t be dragging on for any longer.Hopefully I can now house hunt and find somewhere to live…
Thanks everyone for your support, and I hope this journey helps someone else if they find themselves in a similar position.1 -
And…..
it’s not done. A couple of alerts this morning saying my credit score had changed. They’ve marked the debt as settled, and said no missing payments this year. They haven’t applied the default as of the date of the IVA.Am I correct to keep pressing for the default to be applied? This way the debt vanishes completely.
My Experian report says I was in a debt management plan. Isn’t the point of insolvency that when it’s done it’s done and you can start again with a clean sheet?0
