Redcross, sorry to hear it's a sad day for you, thinking of you.
TA, this is the first V Hislop I've read, but I'll be reading more. I'll try The Island next.
Hello Redruby, pleased you've had a great holiday, doesn't seem five minutes since you went!
Camelot and SO, I commiserate with you both about printers - ours takes a fit of the horrors every time it sees me approaching - I usually have to enlist Dh to sort it out. If he wasn't here I would have to ring ds or dil and ask for advice.
Hope you find somewhere that sells the pyjamas you like Gers.6 -
Hi all, we are in Crete this week. Have had a few challenges with the hotel but I won’t bore you. Let’s just say T/Cook will get some feedback. I wouldn’t mind but it wasn’t exactly cheap! My birthday yesterday and I had one too many daiquiris so have felt very delicate today - missed breakfast and just had a small slice of bread and a little cheese at lunchtime. Need to know my tipping point! For the Victoria Hislop fans on here - we took a boat trip to Spinalonga on Monday. Have always wanted to go since reading The Island and it didn’t disappoint 😊
Great news about DGD @dp1 but so sorry to hear about your Dad - sending hugs x
@IzzyBee I too would’ve been annoyed at the running commentary - people are so inconsiderate!
Can see the weather at home is a bit grim, so will make the most of the sunshine here while we can!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings7 -
Afternoon everyone
Late one from me again, I was too late getting up to come on my laptop this morning.
Thank you for all the welcome backs for DD and little one...they are so pleased to be home. Little one won't go back to school until next week, as she can't go until a nurse has been to do further training with the staff, though I think DD will take her to family assembly on Friday morning.
My mam rang just after 9am to tell me dad was getting transferred nearer to home today, unfortunately not the hospital in our town but one about 40 miles away. It will be easy for mam, and me to get to as the bus leaves from the end of mam's road and stops right outside the hospital. DD and little one went this afternoon to see dad and to bring mam home again...she said he was fine when they left.
Coxy - I wish I'd woken up in Crete this morning!
Redruby - your holiday sounds lovely too
Izzy - you never know, it's been lovely and sunny this afternoon in North Northumberland.
My eldest DD goes on holiday tomorrow for 3 weeks - first to Malaysia and then to Bali, she's never been to Malaysia but I think this is her third time to Bali. She's going to ring tonight to tell me her plans.
Better get washed up x7
