Co-op Bank Everyday Extra - free for 3 months

Thanks for the info
I agree with you.WillPS said:It really is such a shoddy bank. I'll keep it for the 3 free months and then move elsewhere. Possibly back to Nationwide, we will see.
It's like being in a time-warp. due to the cash for switches done about 10 banks in the last couple of years and by far it's the worse. Only one where I had to call to use debit card on-line. Also only one where I had to call to release a transfer.
For me the Extra type of account isn't worth it, but as it was free and I'm away took it because of the travel insurance, I certainly won't be staying for month 4.
EDIT forgot about welcome pack, just checked mine an no Membership ID just account number.

Agree with what you're saying. It's a shame because I think it'd be the option that made the most sense financially at £15/month but unfortunately Co-op Bank have managed to disappoint me, even with the expectation of an account which would be useless as an actual bank account and just a conduit for some insurances.HillStreetBlues said:Thanks for the info

Even if I was staying, I could never have the Co-op as my main bank. Their system needs a major update it's at least 20 years old Hence why you have to call them so much and their statements have the same look. I have major doubts with will be a seamless transition.WillPS said:

Little update - I was able to call assurant today (on the aforementioned number) and they gave me my membership number. It is 6 digits prefixed by COOP00000 - definitely not present anywhere on the welcome letter.
The Assurant website isn't letting me register my devices yet but I've had this with them before, will try again tomorrow.
I called back and reached out to the RAC - you cannot register via the website but you can download the MyRAC app and register that way - there is an option for if you get your cover through a packaged bank account, the rest of the flow worked seamlessly.
So I can now manage the 2 insurances I might want to access quickly without a phonecall. I can live having to make a phonecall in the (somewhat unlikely) event I need to claim on the travel insurance component.
Very convoluted, as is their brand, but I've got where I need to be with it now.1 -
Thanks, I just downloaded the RAC app and went smoothly.
History shows I'm more likely to need a claim on my travel insurance (claimed at least three times) than phone (never lost or damaged or even had a phone stop working except one the one smashed in car crash and claiming that back via that route).

When I asked (about a year ago) regarding a policy number, I was told all that was needed was my account number but they gave me a policy number to quote if a travel company wanted to know the number (as the people organising my travel did). So it seems it is only third parties who ever need to know a policy number as such.0

I can't find a portal to manage the AXA Travel Insurance online at all, which is a shame.0

In what way "manage"?WillPS said:I can't find a portal to manage the AXA Travel Insurance online at all, which is a shame.0 -
Make claims, view existing claim statuses, purchase or renew extended cover for certain conditions, etc.General_Grant said:
