JC International wrecked by credit score

There is a bit of back story to this....but to keep it (reasonably) short....
I have always had an excellent credit score. Then JC International Acquistion wrote to me last year in August to say I had a historic debt with SKY for £75. Now, I don't believe e this debt was mine. I contacted Sky and contested this with JC. But I couldn't conclusively prove it wasn't mine (that's the back story, but I may go back for another go...).
I paid the debt within a week or 2 or getting their letter.
Then this summer, the credit reference agency my bank uses downgraded me from 5 stars to 2.....because JC had registered it as an unpaid debt that was now "satisfied ". Apparently, this stays on my record till April 26. I challenged it again with the credit reference agency but they've knocked me back and reinstated it.
Back story aside.....how can JC do this to my record? They may have bought the debt but I had no idea it even existed until they came calling! Sky did not chase me, as far as I can tell. And I paid the debt thinking it would get JC off my case and keep my record clear. I wrote to them to complain at the same time I challenged the credit reference agency. But of course, no reply from JC.....
Is there anything at all I can do? Thinking about writing to my MP. This buying up old debt and crashing people's credit records cant be right, can it?

ONly thing you can do is stop worrying about it. The credit score is a fiction only seen by you. The banks don't see it or care. They will look at your credit history and see that you have paid a debt which, rightly or wrongly, was on you record. It's gone now so that makes you look better than you did.
Next time you see something you don't think is yours make them prove otherwise.
