Include bonus in tax credits declaration?

Hi all

We are migrating over from Tax credits to UC sadly. 

We have just been sent a final annual declaration for the peroid April 6th 2024 - 28th April 2024. My wife got a bonus in July from her work. 

On the tax credits letter it gives the information tax credits have for what she earned during this period, however when she adds it up it comes to more as she includes the bonus she got from work. Clearly Tax credits have no included her Juky bonus. She's not NHS or anything just admin work. 

So what do we put down for her? What she worked out which includes her bonus in July which was added to her salary or what tax credits have put down which is correct but doesn't include her bonus?

Tax credits helpline is down so can't ask them.

You only include income actually received up until the closure of your tax credits.

If the July bonus was received after you claimed UC, then it should not be included in your income for tax credits.

As your TC is closed for 23-24, when you migrate you will recieve an in year end of tax credit notification.  At which point you enter the amount paid from April 24 to the end date.

As Yamour has pointed out on UC you income is taken monthly and so if Julys payment fell into a UC assessment period it should be declared at the end of that period.  Which is probably automatically done by her payroll, HMRC and DWP/
