Vinted Counterfeit claim

Hello, I recently bought a Dyson airwrap from a seller on Vinted. When it first arrived it looked legitimate and worked the first time I turned it on, so I accepted the order. However, when I turned it on again it wouldn't work. Long story short, I sent it to Dyson who confirmed it was counterfeit. The seller has blocked me on Vinted and Vinted refuse to offer a refund. I feel very frustrated with Vinted's process - we pay a buyer protection fee but they will only protect you for 48 hours after receiving the order. And, as your payment is held in escrow - any refund actually comes from that account and not the buyer protection fee. I feel like it is false advertising from Vinted as I can't see a scenario where that fee is ever used to protect the buyer. Has anyone else had experience of this? Their legal team refuse to take my matter any further but I wondered if there is any other department to which I can escalate this to? I'm still hoping I might be able to claim through my bank but understand this doesn't always work.

Did Vinted dispute it was a fake? or was it just "tough luck"?

How did you pay?
If debit or credit card. Contact bank explain situation, as you have proof from manufacture that it is counterfeit ( take it that they have destroyed it & not sent it back) Chargeback the amount.Life in the slow lane1 -
Vinted will probably claim it's not their problem, that they act as a platform between vendor and purchaser.

What's Vinted approach to Chargebacks? I know PayPal have changed now and take it from the merchant but in the old days it just came out of your own account so all you were doing is starting debt recovery processes against yourself.born_again said:How did you pay?
