They are usually smaller and thinner, and they are often fashion items, brightly coloured and decorative rather than functional. When there is a bewildering choice, such as three tins in a cupboard, most men cannot find the item for which they are searching. The sensible woman realised that the man was in a panic and found him a ladies’ plain belt to meet his needs.
Another reason to have things all the same in my opinion for clothing at least. Personally having been raised with older brothers and always getting hand me downs I didn't know that there was a women's vs men's way to button etc until I was in my mid twenties and someone pointed it out to me. I just thought it was random.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
