Meter Profile Class change
Has anyone been through a meter profile class change? I'm in a property that used to have an Economy 7/dual rate meter which I've since had changed to a smart meter, I also got my energy provider (OVO) to give me a single tariff rate for both the peak and off peak readings.
I've asked them to change my meter profile to "01" so I only have to deal with a single meter register going forward with the intention of moving to Octopus and using their smart tariffs. The only thing is it seems to be taking ages and no one at OVO can tell me how long it could take or actually confirm that it can be done. I've had others, on the OVO forum, that said their billing systems won't be able to handle a change from two readings to a single one on the same account, so not sure what to believe.

Mine was economy 7, then a smart meter with two registers, now only the first register increases on the smart meter and I am charged single rate. Thats with EDF. Thing is though whenever I try to change to a different supplier it won't let me because they always insist I have an economy 7 meter and thats the only tariff I can get.....0

A few months prior to that their policy was that customers would have to transfer from Eco 7 to the Standard Single Variable tariff, and then at some point move to the Tracker. However, they changed that, supposedly, so that Eco 7 customers could move straight to the Tracker traiff. ( In the background, what transpired was that a 'Billing Specialist' executed a manual transfer from the Eco 7, and then from there to the Tracker ). In doing so, they omitted to change the profile class for my account. ( Profile Class 2 = Eco 7 customer, Class 1 = Domestic single rate ).Ever since then it has been an absolute farce, trying to enter readings, with my meter either showing 2 readings, or sometimes 1 reading, as this and that 'Billing Specialist' messes around, declares victory, and promptly disappears, to be replaced later by another, and so on .... rinse and repeat. They finally changed the profile class from 2 to 1 in November. All still a mess. Now...., they are taking the smartmeter reading from the single rate register, which for me to access for my own monthly monitoring of my usage, I have to burrow down through menus and settings on the smartmeter. On Eco 7, my smartmeter would instantly display, without hassle, on a scrolling display.., the Date, Time, Total Usage, Rate 1 ( Day ), Rate 2 ( Night ). It was all fine. [ Total Usage was the sum of Rate 1 + Rate 2 ]It's been Octopus incompetence all the way through. The worst thing is that if I try to move to another supplier, because my meter is displaying Total Usage, and Octopus is picking up the usage from just the one register..., it seems likely that I'll run into problems.0

On mine, it's a single button to scroll through the meter registers (much like yours used to do on E7).trufflehunt said:The worst thing is that if I try to move to another supplier, because my meter is displaying Total Usage, and Octopus is picking up the usage from just the one register..., it seems likely that I'll run into problems.
