Car tax help

Not sure what you can do about the payment not taken but maybe look at a different bank for future. Mine will pay the DD even if insufficient funds and gives you until 2pm to pay the money in to cover it. Seems odd that not all banks do that these days.
If it's been cancelled you might need to pay the whole lot in full to cover the year if the DD wasn't paid twiceRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Ah thanks
says this on the email below
If we are unable to collect your payment for a second time, your Direct Debit will be cancelled and we will contact you. Once cancelled we cannot re-instate a Direct Debit.

If the DD has failed twice your vehicle will no longer be taxed according to this page.

thanks for that. Think I need to ring asap in the morning and try sort it0

They only try taking it twice - usually early morning and again around 3 o'clock on the same day.
You can fix it by setting up a new DD - even same bank and same details.0 -
Pay this years road tax by debit or credit card.0

Bear in mind that isn't always accurate. No idea if the police or other services have a different view of the data but failed DD doesn't seem to update the check for some time. My car wasn't taxed yet it was still shown as having valid tax on that website for over 3 weeks. Even when I received a letter from the DVLA the site was still showing tax was valid.Ayr_Rage said:Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
