It's an issue with the "floating" ad that moves/gets placed at the top of the page, it has some sort of ad-container element across the screen that sometimes tries to "float" the ad into the top half of the page when scrolled down, but something is going wrong.

Using the "picker" tool in adblock/ublock and hovering over the area that is "blocked", you can actually block that element altogether, and use the page again, but that's a bit technical/a pain - but reveals the name of the element too (eg for that bella page above the faulty element causing the block is called ".article_is-sticky__pm9El.article_billboard__X_edx.article_adContainer--zero_margins__78jbh.article_adContainer__qr_Hd")

There should be a way to write a generic rule that catches that specific problem on all pages, but I'm not sure how to make more "generic" catch-all rules, maybe someone else could help.
Sort of makes sense, I don't use an ad-blocker but sometimes the first line or so will not allow me to enter anything for a few seconds until an ad has appeared and quickly disappeared - I don't really give it a thought now as I am used  to waiting  a few seconds before starting to fill the forms but if something stops the ad closing that would be an issue

OMG! That totally worked! And even better, little ol' me managed to suss out how to do it.

On the page where the problem happened, I clicked on the adblock icon and then clicked on "Block Distractions". Then it showed a transparent blue square, over the boxes where it won't let me click in to type. I clicked on that. Can't remember the end bit, but was probably just to OK it. The the box was gone and I can click to type in any of the boxes.

Now then, if it does that every time now, for that site, it is worth it. If is doesn't, it probably isn't. But regardless, at least it makes sense of what the problem is.

    Thank you loads

I think I've found an easier way to do this, for Ad Block users. It works permanently for each page you do it on:

    Right click on the page

Hover over arrow on “Ad Block – block ads across the web” to bring up menu

Click on “Hide something on this page” It shows “Click on any item on this page you would like to hide.”

Move the curser to the top of the page, and click on the transparent blue square that is covering where you want to click inside the boxes.

    Click on the blue box.

Click to confirm that you want this hidden every time

Dance around the room in celebration that you won’t have to worry about this the next time for that competition (optional)
