Octopus Intelligent meter readings

Not really blasé, I just don’t think they are needed with a system where it is pretty obvious things have gone wrong because you are no longer seeing half hourly data, and they don’t revert to estimated readings if they stop getting that data.Marksfish said:And each subsequent page has a helpful pink line around the times charged as off peak, even the extras they give you. I have gone through all the pages looking at that, but to go through the rest is too time consuming.
I'll have to trust the pink, it's "progress" I suppose, but will be submitting readings monthly for my records.
After all the previous advice given over the years about submitting meter readings and keeping up to date, i'm surprised at the rather blase attitude to this style of charging.

You will probably find montly register reads under the meter readings section in the octopus app. But obviously Octopus don't use them since they are pointless on the tariff you are on.

Meter readings would serve as a sanity check. The total energy billed, in kWh, should closely match the difference in meter readings. Rounding errors may mean it doesn't quite match, the tariff I'm on is billed on daily use and I have seen one bill where they differed by a fraction of a kWh0

Plus you can get a record of the half-hourly data from several other sources to check in detail whether the usage on the bill is accurate.Keep_pedalling said:

Well stop sending them. I've not made a manual submission since I've had the smart meter and there is a reading for every month.Marksfish said:
I've seen that, but the only readings showing are the ones I have manually sent.Alnat1 said:The app still shows meter readings for me, try scrolling to the bottom of the usage page.0 -
My bill is created on the 28th of the month. If there was going to be a reading, surely it would be on that date? I submit on the 2nd oof the month to give it a chance to show, but never has.0

The readings on my app are on the billing date, so it is easy to subtract one month from the next as a quick check that the total kWh on the bill agrees.0
