VCS Charge Notice for Stopping at Leeds Bradford Airport - Im a Newbie at this !

Hello
Last week I did similar to what another member @Paul-T951 posted in 2023.
I was picking up a passenger on a rainy day with limited visibility, i was following a large vehicle, turned right into the Airport Access road, my passenger was there waiting so i pulled in just past the Mid Stay entry area, threw her bag in the boot, she got in and I set back off. The engine was still running and I didnt obstruct anyone. I then realised i was in a controlled zone, saw the signs and double red lines etc. I had to then enter the pick up and drop off area, paid £7 charge to drive straight through.
I reviewed Google Maps streetview afterwards and there is a sign on the corner that i genuinely didnt see as i drove in due to large vehicle and poor weather conditions.
Do I have any recourse for my mistake please ? I noted that @Paul-T951 in his thread didnt think he had but on contacting the airport they cancelled the charge notice.
Im new to this, but have read the newbies area so will complain to the Airport and ask if they can assist me firstly.
Im now aware that i should not reveal the driver details so wont do that but answer with the templated letter.
Please can anyone outline what else I can/should then do? (believe the next stage is appeal but as VCS are IPC that its pretty fruitless, is that correct ? )
Thanks in advance

Must I use the word complaint specifically in my communication to them ? ( I'll review more examples of successful complaints but not yet seen any specific format needed)
Thanks0 -

Not sure I understand your point sorry but yes she recognised me as it used to be her car. She had a brolly up due to the rain but I thought it was her. I wasn't very familiar with the layout and pickup locations hence me making an error when I caught sight of her. It was her who then pointed.out to me that it was a no stopping area I had entered. I then saw signs as I then drove to the barrier for the pick up/drop off car park. It wasn't very clear that I had left the highway and entered Airport property at that point (but as I said earlier later review of Google.streetview does show a sign at the entry that I didn't notice)0

Of course you call it a formal complaint!
You should be really angry about getting a predatory scam PCN that will see horrific VCS dragging you to court next year.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
