Parking Charge (Group Nexus) ANPR

Options
I apologise in advance as having read the advice on this board I am a little confused as this notice was sent in the post as opposed to windscreen type ticket..

Anyway I will try to be brief: Wife parks her car every weekday on a retail park from 05.45-1600. She works at a store full time. The car park for use of shoppers of the various retailers is where she parks and she pays MONTHLY to Group Nexus for this ‘pleasure’..she has done this for many years without issue..obviously it’s cheaper to pay monthly than use a machine every day..

One day last month her monthly payment was due(and they don’t accept advance payments which is odd) and she parked at 05.42 to start work at 06.00. They will not accept payment before 06.00 wife tells me.
She is not able to use her phone whilst at work and left at 15.36 that day.

She remembered to pay her monthly parking amount to Group Nexus that same day at 19.45.

She has now received a PARKING CHARGE from Group Nexus for that one day for 9hrs 53 mins.
Photos of car on their letter.

Now,she is not disputing she parked there,of course,it’s her place of work after all BUT if she cannot pay before 06.00 what is she supposed to do?
She tells me that she always pays the monthly bill the next day..for example her current monthly bill expires at 23.59 on 23rd Sept..so logically as she cannot pay early she has to pay after midnight but can’t as they don’t accept payments before 06.00!!…so she will pay that next day as normal which is usual..

She says it’s happened before with no problems. Just wonder how to word an appeal.?
This really is bizarre .. a regular payer to the Parking Company for years and even paid her monthly amount on the day of this event…

Is Group Nexus a reputable company I wonder ? Never heard  of them before..

Thanks to anyone who has read this far and grateful for any kind of replies.

They are a well known private parking company, but I wouldn't call any of them reputable ( they have traded for years under other names like Highview and C P Plus. )

Does the NTK PCN letter comply with POFA 2012. ?

If she works at a store in the retail park I'd suggest she needs to talk to her store manager to get this sorted.

Is Group Nexus a reputable company ?
No, not in our very long experience.

None of the industry would be described that way by the public or by MPs. See the NEWBIES thread to read first.  It includes quotes from MPs about these firms, who are in "market failure" and are in the process of being regulated by Government.

She needs to make sure she NEVER drives in past the cameras before 5.55am. She will get more PCNs.

First thing to do is get her Manager to email GN to cancel it.  Do NOT rush to appeal.

POFA compliant NTK or not? Compare it to the NTK pictures thread. Linked in the NEWBIES thread. Check that first as it's important.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Really grateful for your help. She will speak to Manager first which is what I suggested. I think it’s most unfair tbh. Couldn’t locate images of NTK but have attached the letter received.Thank again.

A great deal of these private PCNs are unfair, but its not going to help you apart from plan A

Surely that picture above is the NTK PCN letter, or part of the front and no back picture

Compare it to the pictures by coupon mad and decide if it complies with POFA or not , as you were already advised to do

Yes will try to find it. I should hope her store Management can help or at least come to some arrangement with GN

The NTK pictures thread is of course linked in the NEWBIES FAQS thread. Or by looking at my threads in my profile. Found in seconds.
