Hi
For the last 4-6 weeks I am having problems visiting MSE from home pcs. Very few occations I managed to visit the forum but all other times I get Connection time out error messages on both browsers (IE & Firefox) on both my desktop and laptop. I initiall thought that the fault is from MSE website because the problem that MSE had recently. But I now realise I can visit the web site at work without any problems and it is at home I have the problem with. My ISP is talktalk and as you know i use both IE and firefox. Could some one please advice me what to do to get rid of this problem.
Thank you very much

you could try
start, run,
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
add this line, and save the file
213.129.77.16 forums.moneysavingexpert.comEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
You could also try OpenDNS incase it's your isp's dns servers playing up: https://www.opendns.com/start
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
I have been having the same problem so thanks for the question ABH. Just now I clicked on TECHIES and then clicked again and double clicked until I finally got on. I also have problems sending responses so I'll see what happens when I send this one but, in any case, I will take the steps suggested.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all the clever people on here - and the not so clever too of course.:T0 -
Happy new yaer for all of you
Thanks very much for the above suggestions, I tried them but still no success.
I was trying to post a reply for a long time but may be due to security system at work it did not allow me to do so.
I am still unable to access the site, there is no help from ISP either. Will ring belkin as I use the belkin router but have only little hope as ISP tried so many trobleshootings
if someone can help me to sort this problem out it will be a great help.
Thanks very much0 -
I get a similar problem if I use a Dial - Up Connection, mine is fine with my fast BroadBand connection.
It may be down to a slow connection, Talk Talk are not the best ISP available, as you probably know.0
