SMART Parking Appeal - popla ??? Please Help

Hello - i have just come across this site having learned that the appeal I submitted was rejected. Long story short - i paid for parking on 29th July but the money left my account on 30/7 and so they are saying i had an invalid ticket - i may have pressed the incorrect date but cant be sure. I believe that I have admitted to being the driver in my first appeal - i didnt know this was a no no. 
My husband is in chemo at the moment and I had a toddler with me - all could have lead me to choosing an incorrect date on the parking app but my bank clearly shows me paying/placing a transaction for parking on the day i was fined and actually parked (29th). No idea why the payment left my account on 30/7 unless id chosen this date by accident.... Is there anything at all that I can do? I am deeply upset by this and would never knowingly not pay to park. 
I have looked through some of the appeals on threads but cannot see anything that fits my situation

    I recommend that you go for plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements, getting the retail park management team or landowner to cancel the PCN ASAP 

    Would have been an easy win if you had come here earlier before admitting who was driving

    Oh its still an easy win
    dont need to bother wasting your time with plan A
    Go to the popla and use the following text, dont add or take anything away, it will be cancelled in due course

    "the operator does not have a contract to issue PCNS at this site"

    Correct, short, sweet, and to the point, no ambiguity there. 😬

    But 

    Not an email, you upload it to Popla as a PDF attachment choosing OTHER

    That isn't how to appeal to POPLA.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Thank you this advice, do I still need to appeal using smart parking's process first and then popla, or just straight to popla?
