My ESA - Hubbys state pension

I'm sure this has a simple answer-- somewhere, but I can't find it! I receive ESA (support group). My husband receives carers allowance for me. At the moment he is included in my ESA claim. Next year he reaches retirement age (66). He is entitled to state pension- we both worked 40 odd years. I know his pension affects the ESA. All I want to know is how? I don't retire until 2026. Any info or advice would be gratefully received.

You will need to call ESA and ask them. Could also not find any specific answer to how a partners state pension affects Income based ESA where you are main claimant.
I suspect it will mean the ESA claim will be reduced by the amount of pension being received. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -
If all the ESA is Income Related then the state pension will be deducted in full. They will also include a Pensioners Premium in with the calculation.2
