Easyjet Price Changes

Does anyone know the best time / day of the week to visit the easyjet site to book a flight.
It seems that at different times the price fluctuates up & down.
Is there any rule to it or is it a case of keep checking.

I would think the price is more likely to go up than down.
You just have to keep checking but be very cagey.
Don`t put the exact date you want to travel, apparently their software can pick up what particular flight are being checked over and over again and they adjust the price accordingly.
The theory is that there are so many seats at £5,so many at £10,so many at £15 etc.,etc.
So as these seats are being bought the price will keep on rising,so the earlier you book the cheaper the fare.
But then they have their special offer days and seat sales,so the answer is keep checking `til you are happy with the price.0 -
In my experience, and i fly at least 20 times a year with Easyjet, the prices never go down, and when someone books a flight at the lowest price the flight then goes up to the next price band, for example, book 2 seats at 23.99p complete the payment then check the price again on the website, now it is 27.99.You could have booked 8 seats at 23.99 at the same time,so it is not just the first 2 seats at the lower price,ok this info may not be 100% correct all the time, but worth knowing........brianPolitical?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

Hi Jamesh,
Perhaps this doesn't happen a lot, but I had to book flights for my boss recently and the price went down between the first time i checked the price, and the time i actually booked and paid for them. I looked on Monday and booked on Friday, and the price had dropped by £10 per person. The flights were only Stansted to Edinburgh though.Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
Thanks for all the detailed replies.
I have noticed easyjets prices change slightly day to day (up and down)
I think they must know the times and days of the week people try to book flights, eg the weekend and tweak the price accordingly.
On this occasion though I've found a pretty much the same price deal with Czech airlines instead,
I would have gone from Bristol with Easyjet but Czech fly from Birmingham but the main advantage of of the Czech airline flight is the time it lands.
Thanks again everyone.0 -
If you do find a lower price once you've booked they have a "price promise" http://easyjet.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/easyjet.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=LARZptIh&p_lva=&p_faqid=19&p_created=1074005790&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTQmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wcm9taXNlJnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=
Basically , you can offset the difference towards your next flight.0 -
i agree about prices going down as well as up with easyjet, and ryanair likewise
my personal tip is book from midnight until 6 am, time and time again leaving it to a more normal time of the day costs me £10 or £20 extra
i also have the feeling they know who is checking prices constantly...just a hunch, the more times you check, the more important that particular date is to you...and they know it
i expect the real truth about ticket pricing tricks is a closely guarded secret...but paying more for flights just by going back and checking a few hours later is not unusual0 -
Its not just easy jey that prices jump around, It happens on expedia with general flights to america too, I saw 3 diferent prices and significant diferences too. We booked our flight at £700 in the evening, the same flight was £1200 in the morning.0
