How to copy a text message from my Mobile to my PC

I have a Moto G7 mobile and a win 10 PC. I have a text message string that I have on the phone and I want to copy it off and save it as a Word/text file on my PC.

How do I go about that? Thanks.

You can simply 'forward' a text message to an email address rather than another phone number I've done it myself and still do occasionally. Then open/save the email on another device.
You may be charged if you do it that way because the phone forwards it as an MMS which may not be included for free in your phone plan.
Nowadays I have the free CX File Explorer on my phone which you can pretty easily link to a PC/laptop/tablet over your home (or other) wifi network. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cxinventor.file.explorer&hl=en_GB
With that you select 'share' for the text message and pick CX to do the sharing. It then opens CX, you pick 'network', pick your computer, and 'save' the message as a text file on the computer.
The two devices do have to be switched on and connected to the same network to do that. (Which is why I still use the forward-to-email method at times).

  • Have a look at MS Link to Windows (app on phone & PC). Does what you want and a bunch more.

I wasn't aware of that, probably because I've never really needed it, but it could be so handy! Thanks. :)
