hi all can anyone advise
my house was built 1979, the insulation is paper thin and i mean paper thin
so ive had a company out which is getting raving reviews on all sites
turned up on time for a price
this is where i need advise, supply and fit 8 rolls 270mm, leaving old insulation down would make too much of a mess to take up (its like crumbs), price £560 all in
is that price about right
thank you

The first one between the joists, the second at right angles. depending on the depth of the joists, usually 100mm for the first layer, and 200mm for the second for a total of 300mm.£560 isn't too bad a price - It is not the most pleasant of jobs, and can be a pain in the butt getting materials up in to the loft. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.3 -
I probably wouldn't do that job for £560 unless I was desperate for the cash.2

Get them to say what insulation (type, and manufacturer if possible) to be sure, but the price seems reasonable. And check if it is to SUPPLY 270mm insulation, or make the TOTAL DEPTH upto 270mm.1

i dont like watching over the guys i went outside to look at the rolls and said 100mm
i asked what was installed they said 100mm+170mm, which i didnt see the 170 =, work was already underway so maybe the 170 was already being worked on
i'm not going up in the loft to check and paperwork says 270mm1 -

Assume all done properly too.
Then, whenever you have a friendly visitor who won't mind sticking their head up in t'loft, hopefully they can do so and reassure you all is good. :-)
If so, please consider leaving nice reviews for this company, as there will be plenty other folk wondering just as you were :-)

If you want to be double sure, you can always borrow a thermal camera and check for any cold spots in coming winter.0
