If this is managed migration.....TimeLord1 said:Can anyone clarify the need for fit notes if you have been moved from ESA to UC then eventually get assessed on Universal Credit do you need to supply fit notes for those assessments every time or just complete the form. From government's own website:If you’re moving from Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
If you have been receiving Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), you will not need to provide medical evidence such as fit notes, or have a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) if all of the following apply:
you move from ESA to Universal Credit without a break
you have already completed a WCA
you were in the ‘support group’ or ‘work-related activity’ group in ESA when you made your claim to Universal Credit
You may need to have another assessment if your WCA is due for a review or your condition changes.
If you were providing medical evidence on ESA before you moved, you will still need to provide medical evidence on Universal Credit until you get a WCA decision.

If you mean, do you need to get a fit note from your GP everytime your capability for work is to be reassessed / reviewed (i.e when you are sent a UC50), then the answer is no, you don't. I believe that some work coaches were at one time asking for a new fit note when a claim was due for reassessment but this was down to bad (or no) training and they shouldn't have been asking for one. The procedure is the same as it would be under ESA when a review work capability assessment is due (when an ESA50 is sent).TimeLord1 said:Can anyone clarify the need for fit notes if you have been moved from ESA to UC then eventually get assessed on Universal Credit do you need to supply fit notes for those assessments every time or just complete the form. I can confirm no fit note is needed. I went thought the process ESA>UC then an WCA. At no point was I asked for a fit note.TimeLord1 said:Can anyone clarify the need for fit notes if you have been moved from ESA to UC then eventually get assessed on Universal Credit do you need to supply fit notes for those assessments every time or just complete the form. Thanks for the replies, I do think that a lot of this is down to the lack of training and people being advised wrongly. I think we can all agree that the ESA 50 and the UC 50 are all dealt with by the same people. Just the departments that deal with ESA and UC are different. As I said, it's appeared on other sites and panicking people, and I'm trying to help those people out. Thanks, everyone. Anything you can add, please do. I'm sure people will be searching for this topic online. Much appreciated 👍0
