    Ok, let's assume you DO NOT have an introductory offer period and today is the 1st day of your statement cycle.
    Any purchase made today will give you 59 days (til the due date) in which to repay in FULL before any interest is charged. Purchase the next day and you'll get 58 days, the next and you'll get 57, the next and you'll get 56 etc. This continues til a minimum interest free period of approx 14 days.
    If you do NOT pay the balance in FULL by the due date you will be charged interest from the day you made the purchase. Make a partial payment by the due date and you'll still be charged interest on the full amount.

    TBH I would leave off from stoozing until you've fully grasped all the basic requirements of how to use a credit card. Don't run before you can walk as it's all too easy to get in too deep.
