I've looked on the Post Office site and on MSE, but cannot find info on whether I can apply for a joint Post Office card, nor can I find the information on the Nationwide site. Do you have to go through the application process before you can find out whether you can have a joint card?

Unlike mortgages, current accounts, and loans (where 'joint and several' liability can be given), you cannot have a joint credit card.

With CC's, there is a primary cardholder (the applicant, who is solely liable for any debt placed on the card) and a secondary cardholder (who has absolutely no responsibility for any debt placed on the card).

OK, can I have a primary and a secondary on either the Post Office or the Nationwide? My husband will be the primary, and I would be the secondary. I do not have a high enough credit score for my own card .

Another good card for travel is Thomas Cook Visa - its issued by Barclaycard, but has no foreign loading fees

THanks for the info, guys. Hadn't heard about the Barclaycard one.
I just wish they'd make such information available at the beginning of their application process..................... OK rant over now.
