Unsafe Gas Cooker

Hi!
I bought a second hand oven and had it fitted & certified by a gas safe engineer. I have today had my yearly gas/boiler check and the engineer has told me the oven is unsafe as regulations (regarding FSD & blocks of flats) came out in 2006 & the oven should not have been fitted in the first place.
Now I imagine this is something the engineer who fitted the oven should have picked up on in the first place? Should I say something to the original engineer about this?

This is probably to do with Technical Bulletin 015.
TB015 says that a new gas cooker without a flame supervision device should not be installed in a flat or other multi-occupancy building.
I assume by 'secondhand' you mean the cooker had been previously owned and used by someone else?
The term new in the context of this guidance relates to appliances which are bought as new and unused through any retail source.
If you said to the engineer doing your annual inspection something like 'I had a new cooker fitted in January', perhaps he misunderstood you?2 -
I wouldn't of bought a second hand any thing to do with gas. brand new only for me with something so important.0

Well seeing as the OP had a gas safe person install the cooker and the OP has managed to stay alive for a year I think it's a bit past the time to be rushing to the hills in a blind panic.
