in Credit cards
I have one credit card I use nearly all the time. It has a large limit, of which I use about 10% of most of the time.
I have one credit card I use abut twice a year as a backup. This has a limit of about £2000, of which the last time I used it, I put about £700 on it.
I have about three old credit cards I don't use at all. All are zero balance, all have varying limits but all below £4000.
From a security point of view, is it just better to close these old cards down?
I have no interest in using them in the future.

Be aware, if you're not already, that if you have DDs set up to pay off any outstanding balance and they aren't called into action within 13 months the DDs are likely to expire.
I'd be sure to have at least 2 cards from different providers e.g. one Mastercard, one Visa.2 -
If you are not using & have no intention of using then yes they are a security risk.
Unused account, tend not to get checked. So should someone get hold of the details, it can be a while before it gets picked up.
Just shut them down, so it is less for you to worry about. 👍Life in the slow lane3 -
If you have no intention of using them then you may as well close them. Most lenders will close the account anyway after a couple of years or so of inactivity.

You could also complete a transaction once a year or so. Freeze the card in the app if you wanted to continue your credit history but keep the account safe if that is an option.0
