CIFAS SAR Response issued but not received

Hi everyone,

I was advised to do a SAR with cifas after trying to open a bank account with revolut. I did this and the status changed to “response issued” a week ago but I haven’t received this. They don’t respond to emails and I can’t get through on the phone so no idea how I can chase it up. I assumed any data was sent via email so it really shouldn’t be taking this long surely.

I’ve got bank accounts with Santander (regular account) and Barclays (savings account)  and have taken out car finance and a new credit card in the last few months with no issues so can’t imagine there’s anything major on there but part of me is ever so slightly concerned since revolut told me to contact them!

They have a month to do it under ICO rules, chasing by email and ringing is a waste of time until after the month is up, after that date you should follow up with a complaint email if they haven't responded

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • That’s the thing though, they have done it, and issued a response (according to the tracking) which apparently should have been received within 5 days. It’s day 7 now and still nothing so the response they issued must have got lost somewhere so it definitely needs chasing

If they have sent it e.g. by post then chasing them is not going to achieve anything - the issue is with royal mail
