How to find a decent spray foam removal firm

We are currently trying to find a Spray Foam removal company who will do a decent job and not cost a fortune! They each seem to be saying that whoever we have previously got in to check the roof out, or spoken to, are cowboys! No idea who to trust now.
Spoke to The Spray Foam Advice Centre, who gave us names of 2 recommended firms, and now another firm has said they are not independent, and those recommended will only cause us further roofing problems....

In cases where I can't get a personal recommendation, I ask the firms to put me in touch with a couple of previous customers that had had work done more than a year ago. This helps check that the firms have been operating for at least a year, and gives time for problems with their work to appear.
Many firms I've spoken to have been willing to call a few customers to see if they can get permission to pass their phone number onto you so that oyu can ask a few questions.
For this sort of work, I would recommend asking the customer if you can visit them in their home and see inside the loft.
I ask the customers to confirm when they had the work done, that they aren't connected to the firm or related to the owner in any way, and that they are happy with the work. I also ask them about how long he work took, and whether the workers cleaned up after themselves. Foam is very light and difficult to keep in one place for disposal. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.2 -
I would seek out a reputable trade association, perhaps one that has been registered for more than 3 months and with directors based in the UK.
I would use a properly vetted scheme as run by WHICH or Trading Standards.1 -
This is not a recommendation as I have no personal knowledge of the company. I think it was BBC Rip Off Britain who had an item about spray foam and its removal some time ago. They did mention this firm in a positive way regarding trustworthy companies for spray removal. https://sprayfoamremoval.co.uk/ They may be worth investigating but, as I recall, they certainly weren't cheap even then. This may be the item, haven't played it to check.
