I have bought my return ticket and found out the weather forecast states there will be very bad weather, might delay my flights.

What type of insurance will be good to cover/ or will my credit card I had used to make payment will cover it?

If you buy insurance after finding out that a claim is likely, your insurance would be invalid.  The best advice is always to buy insurance as soon as you book - though for a lot of people it makes sense to have an annual travel insurance policy

To cover what? If bad weather delays the flight the airline still has to provide food, accommodation etc, because its out of their control they won't have to pay you compensation on top of the food, accomodation etc
  • Due to unexpected event and not have time  to plan ahead,
I was told I can still get insurance and would appreicate any suggestions.

Weather is an act of God. You can't insure against very bad weather.

You very much can insure against acts of God @linlui

Insurance is the last line of defence though so if an airline is liable for your accommodation etc then they have to deal with that before the insurer will step in. One advantage of insurance is if you are only on a short trip then the insurance will allow you to abandon the trip if the take off is delayed over X hours which may be a more sensible option. We were going on a long weekend away once and bad weather delayed our outbound flight by 2 days so we'd be landing in the morning and leaving 4 hours later; the airline had met their obligations but the insurance covered the abandonment.
