                    Hi.
we have a kitten who is about 4months old and he has a problem. His bum is bleeding after he has been pooping. he seems fine in himself other than that. (although he does stink when he goes). we have two kittens and its quite noticeable. anyone got any advice or we best getting him to the vet?
thanks

I'd take him for a check-up; in the meantime put him on bland food like chicken and rice. It may be worms; it was with ours.0

I'd get him to a vet. At the very least call your vet and get in touch with the 'on-call' service - they will be able to give you advice and advise whether your kitten needs to see a vet. It's impossible for anyone to diagnose over the web, and with young animals they can go downhill so quickly.
Let us know how you get on.

Keep it on bland food such as small pieces of cooked chicken, small protion of tuna and plain scrambled eggs. Make sure it gets plenty to drink tho' so it dosen't get dehydrated. Might be an idea to by a baby syringe and feed small amounts of cooled boiled water into the side of it's mouth with that. Basically treat like a human baby almost. Should clear up. Good luck.0

It could be down to any number of things, worms, giardia, enteritis, colitis, physical trauma....
I'd let the vet take a look at him tomorrow.
If you can take a sample with you it may speed things up if testing is needed. In the meantime I suggest a bland diet and plenty of water to drink.
Hope he gets better soonSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! 0 0

I'd initially try very plain cool scrambled egg. Add no butter and just a small amount of milk. Try the tuna if it dosen't eat that. I used to have a constantly ill cat, whom I fed those options too. It really helped her recovery.
If the kitten is no better, contact vet tomorrow. Fingers crossed, it'll recover ok.0

            No left over trukey??? lol
Boiled rice, if your cat won't eat this on it's own (not many do!) then mix in a tiny amount of his usual cat food, just enough to colour and flavour the rice a little - try serving it luke as cats tend to like 'smelly' food.
Good luckSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! 0 0
