Childrens party refunds

Options
Hi all,
I need some advice regarding a party I've booked for my child.
I booked it last month as the venue offered an introductory discount - party for 10 kids inc food for £100.  Party date - Nov 09th.  Venue - Jumpin Fun inflatable park.
The offer was for people who booked before the venue had actually opened, so I paid with a credit card (just in case).
We visited yesterday to check the place out, and while the venue and equipment were great, the staff were definitely not.
I saw so many instances of bigger kids pushing younger kids around, pushing them out of queues to get in front etc, and the staff did nothing.
Now this was with me on the equipment with my kids, and I ended up having to intervene so many times as my kids were getting really upset, and this was right in front of staff members.  I did ask them to help but one just shrugged, and the other said "I'm not his mum".
Now for the party, its 10 children NO adults included unless I pay extra (which I can't afford), but I'm completely against the idea of sending 10 kids (aged 6-7) in there on their own.
The website states that party deposits are non refundable - however, I did not pay a deposit as it wasn't an option, just full payment at the time of booking.  It also states that parties will not be refunded or transferred within 21 days of the date, but thats the only info given.

Am I legally entitled to a full refund if I cancel now?  And if they refuse, does this come under the credit card protection?
Any advice gratefully received!

We really need to see their T&Cs but you probably can't post a link to them.

What is the name of the venue?

    Assuming it is these:

Terms & Conditions | Jumpin Fun

  • Yes, thats the one
  • Jumpin Fun Inflatable Park, specifically the new Bristol venue
  • Generally they can claim costs or loss of profits but shouldn't claim profits if they can find another customer.

Does make you wonder if they make much on the £100 and hope for selling other stuff whilst the kids are there so probably costs which would be minimal given how far away the booking date is.

    it does say

    g. Party booking deposits are non-refundable or transferable. No refunds either partial or full will be provided within 21 days of the party.

So hopefully as it's longer than 21 days they will just refund :)

From their terms, I'd guess you can get a full refund.

Or, as £100 is quite cheap for a party for 10 kids including food, could you not pay for one extra person (you) to supervise them? Leaving aside what you saw when you went there, if I was organising a party for mine and 9 other kids I'd probably want to be there, no matter where it was, to make sure everything was ok.

I have never understood how Airlines, Train companies ,hotels etc who sell non refundable services can happily  resell  the service and also  trouser the original payment but jumpin would not according to you be able to do so.
    What's the difference?

I'm sure we've had this discussion before :)

There was an in-depth paper from a body associated with airline regulation (I forget now but a credible source, a forum search might bring my previous post up if anyone can be bothered) saying they should refund costs they won't suffer (such as taxes and airport fees), they touched on finding another customer to replace but didn't go so far as to commit to stating it must be done.

Hotels do state but can't enforce, I don't see them winning in court, plenty of guidance online about obligations when cancelling accommodation.

    Trains, I don't know.
