Checkmyfile new website

I’ve noticed that checkmyfile have updated their website. It’s really bad now. I don’t know why these companies bother changing things that already work perfectly fine. It’s harder to read and the layout isn’t as good. Is anyone else having the same issues?

Yes I have noticed the same thing after it took nearly 2 weeks for them to sort out an unexplained‘technical’ issue with me signing in following the facelift. It’s disastrous, I think it looked far more professional (in a comprehensive way) before. It know looks like it’s aimed at a young teenager… trying to catch them young I guess. The design is not conducive to my iPad and the credit score is much too indiscreet. Mine is fortunately good but I don’t want it in Vegas style font for over shoulder eyes to see from space! Sometimes changing aesthetics for the sake of it without consumer consultation is damming. I’m closing my account and going direct (for free too!).

The score is meaningless, nobody but you ever sees it so whether an onlooker or the world knows it, it's irrelevant as no lending decision is ever made based on that number, nor is it a representation of your wealth/status/credit worthiness

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Charging £180 a year for information you can get for free.
At least they seem to have stopped report on your Crediva score. That always was totally pointless, I wonder when they dropped it.
  • The problem is if you want your Experian report you have to pay them now at £14.99 a month so you are as well to pay £14.99 every time you want to check your full score with Checkmyfile.

Or just ask for your statutory report which they have to give you free but might take a week or so
