Hi Guys,
I have a wireless enabled laptop that works well with my (and my father-in-law's) wireless networks.
I am going to be visiting my parents next week for a fortnight.
In order to keep in touch with work (self employed) I am going to take my laptop. They have broad band but do not have a wireless network.
How do I connect and configure their USB modem to my laptop so that I can connect to the internet/emails?
What will I need? The driver files for the USB modem? Will I need the username and password details for my parents connection?
Hope somebody can help
regards
Max

Ideally you need the make/model of this modem. Lots of USB modems also have one Ethernet port, which you could simply plug into. If not you would need to download the drivers for it and install them on your machine. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

or get a simple crossover cable (about 5 quid) to connect to the lan port on your parents desktop.
or take your wireless router with you? (depends on the type/model).Get some gorm.0
