Probate problem

About to start the process for my father's estate - he had a Deferred payment scheme with the council for his care home fees and when he died we repaid the amount that was owed on the loan. Is there a section on the application where we can list this amount (£34000) The is left to me. Any advice please before I start the process.

Are you talking about the probate form or IHT return?0

You just need to treat this as an Estate liability alongside other liabilities such as funeral cost, Registry Office fees and Executor expenses etc0
