Claiming on previous business insurance policy

I have now registered a claim with my previous insurer Aviva, they were helpful on the phone and seemed to understand that I'd been given the wrong instructions by my broker. Time will tell if I get anywhere and no doubt I'll have to spend plenty of time dealing with another loss adjuster.

Might be chancing it, but do you think it would be worth my while making a new complaint to NIG for not spotting the fact that I wasn't insured with them at the time of the loss and causing me over a year's worth of pointless stress and anxiety?
It does seem odd that they didn't pick up that the incident was prior to policy inception - date of loss is usually one of the first questions.

What redress would you really expect though - damages for stress and anxiety isn't really a big thing in the UK (compared to the USA) - and is it worth going through the complaints process again for a token £100 or something?

Have you queried this with your broker?  Wasn't it their advice to claim on the wrong policy?

I think you're probably right, will concentrate on the new claim.

Is it even possible for a business to suffer from stress and anxiety?
