smile reduces current account interest rate

I see that smile reduced the interest rate on their current account from 3% to 2.78% on 21st Dec. And a Happy Christmas to you too smile!

Fortunately I've just about completed moving my account from smile to someone else paying a far better rate anyway - I got fed up with smile a few months ago as I was still only getting 3% when interest rates had been steadily rising.

I'll keep the account as it is occasionally useful for its cheap money transfers using tipanet, but won't be keeping much money in the account now.

Another of smile's claims to be acting 'ethically' blown out of the water. They pay a dismal rate on their ISA as well and a very uncompetitive rate on their instant savings account. Still, it's good to know that your money is invested ethically :rolleyes:, just a pity that they don't think they should treat their customers' as ethically as they treat their money. Jumped from the smile ship last year for this, and customer service, reasons.
