Sports direct and uncollected order

So last weekend I bought some items from sports direct online
They were scheduled to be delivered on Thursday.
I bought them on Saturday and then on Sunday noticed that I had the delivery address from my old address, which I left in 2021!
I immediately email their customer service department.... However it was a bank holiday
I then got an email from the courier saying that they are going to deliver my item on bank holiday Monday so I was able to change the delivery address from my old address to a Dropbox in the city that I used to live in
I still have friends who live in that city but it is about an hour's drive away
I have been sent a reminder from evri to collect my items and that if I do not click them by the 6th of September they will be returned to the retailer.
My question is, if I leave them to be returned to sports direct will I get an automatic refund? This will then enable me to reorder the items to my current address (forgoing any postage payment).
I still have not received every apply for my email to the customer service department at sports direct

In theory, yes, but given your own experience of their administration and their reputation for customer service, who knows? Add evri into the mix and I wouldn't be surprised if half of the items end up in Penzance and a banana is delivered to an adress a mile away from your old house.
Good luck.5 -
It's an unfortunate, but easy enough, mistake to make.
The easiest and safest thing to do is probably to make the time to travel and collect the order from the Dropbox where it is.
Can the OP combine this with a catch up with old friends?0
