Hi
is it better to have RGB or PAL setup in the picture section of the SKY menu?
the pal isn't as grainy, maybe it's the scart cable type I am using.
thanks
Jon

RGB is the recommended way to go, but make sure you have good quality scart cables and not the standard Sky supplied one.Cheers

RGB should be notably better even with a cheap £1.99 lead.
Are you sure you are watching through scart? Uusally on most TVs there is only one RGB scart, normally called AV1 or Ext 1. Is this what you are using?0 -
oh, i will check the back of the tv properly, i have two scart inputs, component inputs, etc etc.
i have the scart going into AV1, and into AV2 makes no difference. I think the problem could be I am on fringe reeption.
thanks for the advice though.

Reception has nothing to do with RGB so it will make no difference.
Are you using the TV OUT scart from the Sky box into AV1 on your TV?0 -
Are you sure you are connecting via your AV socket, the problem you describe suggest that you are tuned into the Sky box via a spare RF channel that's slightly out of tune. Pull out the aerial lead and see what happens. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

i am connected through AV1, through a scart, nothing to do with the RF socket. seems like I may have to buy a decent Scart, the picture is a bit grainy, thats all.0

If you're not on SKY on the TV and you press SKY on the remote, does it automatically switch to AV1?
Does the TV indicate to you that's it's on AV1 with an RGB input?Dave. :wave:0 -
right, so, I was really baffled by all this. I´m pretty clued up on most home AV things. I overlooked the settings (forgot) within the AV Input on the menu system of the TV.:o:o:o
it now works fine!0
