Factory resets haven't been a need since about Android 9.0. Very rarely does Android need any such intervention these days. Regular re-boots are a good idea and if it is getting the monthly security updates and they are being installed then this should do that.
Try doing a speed test when it appears to be going slowly. It could easily be an issue outside of the device.0 -

Sometimes the only way to get it runny smoothly is to do a factory reset if you have cleared the memory etc...0
