Octopus misleading 'Your fixed tariff is ending' emails August 2024

    I would be very surprised when filter option is changed to show all tariffs including switching direct Uswitch and CTM cannot find a cheaper 12 month fix - Just done it myself relatively low usage Estimated  current annual cost £768.63 - dual fuel - at least 6 cheaper options, cheapest £686, Octopus £802, higher users might save more. ( if I been paying attention you are a lower user lol)  Cheapest without any extra services £784
    There are some cheaper when using the filter but either Variable or Fixed with an Exit fee so not a better offer. 

    The 12M fix I will take from Octopus is estimated at £614 dual fuel no exit fee so yes you are correct I am a low user 

    On my own calculation this 12M fix it about £25 cheaper than my last 12M fix also with Octopus

  • What are the tariffs for these good deals?  I know these will vary a little bit from region to region but it's more helpful to anybody else to quote these than to just give DD amounts.  And they're a sanity check to make sure that the quoted DDs make sense.

    When I go through the process Octopus say it starts 16th October which I object to as I want to change now, when I last fixed it started immediately. 

    I have emailed them for an explanation so see how it goes
    I have same scenario with Octopus just now. I want to choose 12M fix but it says it will start 1st December, I'd rather it changed now. How did you get on with start date for yours?

    Just email them and ask for it to start immediately - they sorted mine out inside a couple of days - and in fact swapped me to a slightly better fix as well - albeit I have now ditched that too for my electricity in favour of Agile! 

    If you have an exit fee on your previous fix though do make sure that you are inside the 49 day period of the end of the previous deal!

  • I've 45 days left, it was a Shell fixed tariff taken over by Octopus.
    I've emailed them and they said I can start it now so it's all good thanks
