Reminder about Royal mail compensation limits

I'm on several selling groups for certain collectable items and there is still confusion about Royal Mail compensation limits.
I switched to RM48 and RM24 for all my items where I needed cover in excess of £20 as there is compensation up to £150 .
Royal Mail Tracked 48 │ Royal Mail Group Ltd
However there are a surprisingly large number of people who insists still that signed for is the only option for high value items, and refuse to accept that the cover is only £20
Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class │ Royal Mail Group Ltd
It is getting a little silly in some groups with people arguing they always get the £40 or £60 comp on signed for and people posting links to the £20 cover are wrong.
For clarity, firstly the cover for RM48 and RM24 is definitely higher, secondly it is much cheaper.to use.
I buy all my post online and as an example a large letter up to 100g sent RM48 is £2.70 the same LL sent signed for is £3.25. For a small parcel up to 2KG I pay £3.39 RM48 against £4.59 signed for.
So please watch your prices. Also, always double check which services actually cover items, not everything sent with RM is covered with every service, so if in doubt, check.

We were promised that RM 24 & 48 would be available at post offices from April/May this year.
It's still not been rolled out.0 -
Ours has got a sign up as well, although I note when queueing up that it isn't a service they seem to push - they still tend to push signed for even when items are over the £20 threshold.martindow said:
Is it not? I print labels at home to drop off at my local PO where there is a notice advertising these services.Pollycat said:We were promised that RM 24 & 48 would be available at post offices from April/May this year.

That's just drop off. I'm talking about buying the service from the post office, exactly the same as buying RM 2nd class small parcel.martindow said:

As above - are you able to buy the service at your post office or just drop off pre-paid parcels?soolin said:

My post office actually has a notice saying this service is available. I’ve never had to buy it at a PO so I don’t know whether they can actually sell the service, or whether they have jumped the gun advertising it.Pollycat said:

It's still not been rolled out. Also the eBay community boards have people reporting that their local POs were offering the service as far back as May this year whilst others have reported later dates and some not showing as available at all as recently as July.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Last time I asked, the service wasn't available but that was several months ago.0 -

TBH, I'd really like to buy this service at small SPSOs so they get the business.
If I buy the postage online and just drop it off, they don't (I think) get any revenue.0
