even before Brexit people used to come back every so often and get medication, I think some used to just give a relatives address and never let on that they were living abroad most of the time
knew some moving to France and wanted 6 months of medication to take so they could get sorted out there - the guidance at the time was a maximum of three months so that is what they, they weren't totally happy1 -

People in Spain who we talk to are still getting free NHS treatment/medication even though they haven't lived here for years and they aren't yet S1 holders so there is obviously ways around the system but trying to find out how is impossible
I have tried the expat forums but there is very little information on this
She has spent a couple of months away but we take the supplies with us
We will just buy what we need in Spain when we go or she can come back and forward for the equipment on the NHS
Thanks for your help

The OP has not said whether the people visited UK to get NHS treatment. He also said his wife could return to the UK to get supplies. However, since Brexit , that is no longer available to her.1

But it would be foolish not to have local medical cover for emergencies or things that might happen without being able to travel.
