Hello.

I have got a Anran CCTV solar camera but I can't connect it to WiFi extender.

TP link RE220 AC750 installed and has a wireless camera working ok but a different brand.

When I try Anran cam to WiFi extender it says try lowering to 64 bit or try another WiFi connection.

The extender is connected wirelesly to the Vodafone router by 5ghz and the cameras are connected to the extender on 2.4ghz as the cameras only use 2.4ghz. I have to use the extenders wifi password to connect which is over 20 odd letters and numbers.

I can not change the settings on the extender but it says it can use 64/128 and 152 WEP/WPA/2 on th tp-link website.

At the moment the Anran is connected to the router but when I go into my back garden the camera goes out of range to where i want to place it.

Is there a way to change security settings on the extender or camera or will I have to return it?

How far is "out of range" here?
The wireless connection doesn't magically stretch to reach somewhere, you have to meet it halfway, if it can't connect because there's no signal, that's not a fault of the camera.

You may have to move the extender closer to the back garden.

The issue is not being out of range it's that i can't connect the new camera to the extender as the camera needs 64bit or lower security to connect.

The new camera will connect to the Vodafone router which is at the front of the house but if i place the new camera 40 feet away i lose connection.

The extender is at the back of the house and the other camera is 50 feet away from it and works.

I can not get the new camera to connect to the tp-link extender due to the encryption as Anran app says it needs to be 64bit or less.

I have sent an email to Anran but waiting for a reply.

I have sorted the problem now.

After trying different options and factory ressetting 5 times i tried the tplinkextender in the browser window and it worked 1st time.

I now have both cameras working and fair to good signal to them both and i have not had any issues since Saturday when it was up and running.

Thanks for the reply and advice.
