Integrated Freezer won't stay attached to cupboard door

Just moved into our newer home. Kitchen was installed about 9 years ago. We knew the integrated freezer door wasn't attached to the cupboard door that covers it, but I was hoping it could be fixed by replacing the runners.
The old runner was broken at the bottom and top so got some new ones and fitted okay. However, when you pull on the cupboard door it would seem the force needed to pull the freezer door open, is greater than the force the runners can withstand (plastic), so the door just pops off the runners. Anyone got any suggestions to fix it? I'm wondering whether metal runners would be better (if anyone makes them), or whether I can do anything to reduce the pressure on the freezer door. Not a huge issue as we can open them separately, but would be another minor issue fixed.

Do you have a photo? My doors runners are screwed into the fridge and freezer door so they don't come off.0

Mine are screwed in too - the runner to the cupboard door, and the bit that goes into it into the freezer door. Top and bottom. The issue is that they pop apart due to the freezer door pressure. The ones that I took off were chipped which is why I though they didn't work, but I assume the same thing happened to them.

So it isn't the door coming off the runners - that's what was confusing.
It's the two halves of the runner coming apart from each other.
Stronger runners might be needed, metal, more enclosed etc. They might not fit in the space though.1
