Firefox search

My Firefox is searching from the address bar rather than normal search box
ie) When I select the search box - it reverts to the top address bar
How do I get it back to normal ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Probably nothing, as that appears to be the way it works.

No, when I put anything in the search box it moves to the address bar

For me too and probably everyone else. Like I said, that's the way it works.

Try Customise Toolbar and drag the Searchbar off it, then close Firefox (maybe 'Restart' your computer too) relaunch Firefox and drag the Searchbar back onto the toolbar.
    That may reset it's behaviour.
Personally I never have the Serachbar showing anyway*, it's unnecassary as you can just use the Addressbar to search. There again I have Google set as my homepage and just search in there.
*PS, Did you know that if you have a seperate Searchbar showing and don't use it for 120 days then it will be automatically removed from the Toolbar anyway?

Right click toolbar and see if you can un-select it.

No I can't - for some reason - I am unable to post image of my browser at the moment

    Nope I can't !
I even tried resetting defaults and that did absolutely nothing as well
I have "lost" the home button now.

Run Firefox in troubleshooting mode.  if the issue goes away its being caused by an extension.
If it continues it's a profile issue.
