Herringbone floor installation

Options
Hi,

I've been quoted £400 for herringbone flooring fitting. The room is only 5.5 m2. The quote doesn't include any flooring, we've already bought this.

This seems excessive to me but not sure if I'm just completely clueless?

We've just paid £180 to have regular laminate laid in a room double almost triple the size for context. I know herringbone would be more due to complexity but still I feel like thats a bit high?

I'm in the North East of England for context.

The room is basically a straight rectangle too, it's a hallway

If it was the same floorer who did you other room then I would be surprised if they decided to rip you off all of a sudden. Do get other quotes but as you have said yourself there is more cutting / measuring involved which is a big factor.
